The Office of Distance & Digital Learning works closely with faculty, students and staff to advance, educate, promote and direct online and other digital learning offerings and services on campus, and beyond.
The following are the four main components in which our services and activities are organized.
The instructional design team is dedicated to the support of faculty in the design and development of active, experiential online or blended learning. Working from articulated learning outcomes, we help faculty plan and implement online courses that are learner-driven, innovative and academically rigorous. Learn more.
Quality Assurance & Review
Our quality process – which encompasses course design, accessibility and copyright – is focused on the Quality Matters model of continuous improvement. You’ll work closely with our quality team to ensure that the course design is clear, engaging and student-centered, and that learners feel supported by the way in which the course is organized. We sponsor the Online Teaching Certification Program in partnership with CTL to prepare faculty to effectively teach online. Learn more.
Active Learning Classroom Design
We are about active learning at DSU, as noted in our tagline or mission value – active learning, active life. Our office works collaboratively with various university partners to design new and update existing classrooms and other learning spaces to effectively facilitate active learning. Learn more.
